On August 8 TechCrunch reported that OpenAI has acquired NextSlide. Founder Ahmed Beshry posted a note on the startup’s site and on LinkedIn saying the team is now at OpenAI helping build ChatGPT. He wrote that the announcement was “a few months late” because the acquisition happened “earlier this year.” Financial terms were not disclosed.

Beshry described the product as one “that could turn prompts, notes, documents, or research into a polished, editable presentation,” with the goal “to make visual communication more accessible.” The site no longer offers the product; it shows only the farewell note.
