QR Generator Next

QR from text or the current tab URL

Features

What you get in practice — not just a checklist.

QR from any text

Type or paste text into the popup to build a QR code instantly — URLs, wifi notes, short messages, or plain strings.

Use current tab URL

One click fills the field with the active tab’s URL so you can share the page you are already viewing without copying from the address bar.

Download the image

Save the QR as an image file for slides, printouts, or packaging. Handy when you need an offline asset.

Copy to clipboard

Copy the QR image for pasting into chat apps, docs, or design tools without an intermediate download.

Size and error correction

Options let you set default size and error-correction level. Use higher correction when the code might be damaged or printed small.

Lightweight popup UI

Everything runs in a compact popup with light/dark appearance settings — fast enough to use mid-conversation.

Privacy

Settings are stored locally. Details are on the Privacy Policy page.

FAQ

Common questions about QR Generator.

Can I make a QR for the page I am on?

Yes. Click Use current tab URL in the popup. The extension needs the activeTab permission to read that URL.

What error correction should I pick?

M works for most URLs. Choose H when the code will be small, printed, or partially covered — higher correction stores less data but survives damage better.

Does QR generation need the internet?

No. Codes are generated locally in the extension. You only need network access for the destination URL itself, not for creating the image.

Can I download and copy the same code?

Yes. Generate once, then download the file, copy the image, or both. Regenerating with the same text produces a matching code.

Is my text stored on a server?

No. Text and settings stay in the browser. Nothing is uploaded to FuriaHub to render the QR.

Blog

Guides and tips for getting more out of QR Generator.

Share the current tab as a QR code

Skip dictating long URLs — encode the active tab and let someone scan it.

Open the popup on the page you want to share and press Use current tab URL. Download or copy the image into chat when the other person is nearby with a camera.

This is especially useful for localhost previews or staging links that are painful to type on a phone.

A quick guide to QR error correction

Higher correction survives wear and low print quality — at the cost of capacity.

If your payload is a short HTTPS URL, prefer H for stickers and handouts. For denser text, step down toward M so the code stays scannable and not overly busy.

Always scan a test print before you order a batch. Phone cameras and lighting vary more than desktop previews suggest.
