Privacy Policy

1. Developer and scope

This policy applies only to the JSON Formatter Next Chrome extension and the related privacy page on furiahub.com. It does not cover websites you visit while using the Extension, or Google Chrome / Chrome Web Store services operated by Google.

2. Data collection (what we collect)

The developer of JSON Formatter Next does not operate a backend server and does not collect personal or sensitive user data on developer-controlled systems.

The Extension does not collect:

• Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other personally identifiable information
• Authentication credentials, payment data, or health information
• Browsing history, search history, or analytics about your activity
• JSON page content, form data, or other website content for transmission to the developer

The only data the Extension itself handles is described in the sections below (local preferences and on-device page processing). No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs are included.

3. Data processing (how data is used)

All processing happens locally in your browser for the Extension’s single purpose: formatting and exploring JSON.

• When you open a page that contains JSON (or that Chrome presents as JSON), the Extension may read that page content in the current tab to parse it and render a formatted tree view.
• Optional features such as search, copy, download, collapse/expand, and JSON comparison (diff) also run entirely on your device.
• In some cases the Extension may re-fetch the current page URL with your existing browser credentials solely to obtain the raw JSON response when the DOM has already been transformed by the browser. That request stays between your browser and the same origin you already visited; it is not sent to FuriaHub.
• Preference values (auto-format on/off and theme) are read and written only to drive Extension UI and behavior.

We do not use page content, URLs, or preferences for advertising, profiling, resale, or any purpose unrelated to formatting JSON in the browser.

4. Data storage (where and how data is kept)

The Extension stores only local preferences using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.sync API:

• Whether auto-formatting is enabled
• Selected theme (light, dark, or system)

These settings remain in your browser profile. If Chrome Sync is enabled for your Google account, Google may sync this storage across your signed-in Chrome instances under Google’s own terms. The developer cannot access chrome.storage data.

JSON page content processed for formatting is held temporarily in memory (and in the page/tab context) only as needed to display the formatted view. It is not written to developer servers and is not persisted by the Extension beyond normal browser tab lifecycle, except when you deliberately copy or download content yourself.

5. Data transfer and sharing (who receives data)

FuriaHub does not sell, rent, lease, or transfer user data to third parties.

The Extension does not transmit preferences, JSON content, tab URLs, or browsing activity to FuriaHub or to any third-party service operated for analytics, advertising, or tracking.

The only network activity related to page content is the optional same-origin re-fetch described above, which goes to the website you are already viewing—not to the developer.

Chrome Web Store installation, updates, and optional Chrome Sync are provided by Google and are governed by Google’s policies, not by this document.

6. Data retention and deletion

Local preferences are retained until you change them, clear extension/site data in Chrome, or uninstall the Extension. Uninstalling JSON Formatter Next removes its chrome.storage data from that browser profile.

Because the developer does not receive or store your data on a server, there is no developer-side copy to delete. To remove local data: uninstall the Extension, or use Chrome’s settings to clear extension data / reset the Extension.

7. Permissions

The Extension requests only the permissions required for its core functionality:

• storage — save preferences (auto-format and theme) via chrome.storage.sync
• activeTab — show the current tab URL in the popup after you open it
• host access (http/https) — detect and format JSON documents on websites you visit

8. Security and remote code

JSON Formatter Next does not use remotely hosted code. All JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and images ship inside the extension package reviewed by the Chrome Web Store.

Because processing is local and no developer server receives user data, there is no developer-operated transmission channel for user content. Any HTTPS traffic to sites you visit uses your browser’s normal secure connection to those sites.

9. Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs (if any) will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The Extension’s handling of website content is limited to providing JSON formatting features described in the Chrome Web Store listing.

10. Children's privacy

JSON Formatter Next is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the Extension after an update means you accept the revised policy.
